While looking at the animal tables, I came across the table for dog sizes. Type Price Weight Guard 25 gp 25 lbs. Lap 15 gp 5 lbs. Riding 150 gp 50 lbs. I have a few objections to this table, and while this might seem silly, I'd still like to discuss it a little. In the interest of full disclosure, I'd like to very early on buy a working dog (for hauling cargo). The Lap Dog seems a little light. by contrast, Lola is approx 10 lbs, so this animal should weigh up to about 25 lbs. (I picked the cocker spaniel as the cut-off). Guard Dog omits anything with any significant mass. I think this dog could be any breed up to 75 lbs. This would include most of the breeds of dog that are currently in existance. Finally, Riding dogs s/b split into two categories. The first is War trained dogs (which should use the rules for warhorses). The second is pack dogs. Pask dogs need much less training, and should cost about as mush as the guard dog, with much more mass. This should be breeds that are 75 lbs to 250+ lbs. The stats would be general dog for guard dog, riding dog for pack dog, and riding dog with the same template that warhorse gets for war/riding dog. Sizes are still T, S, and M for the three categories. Thoughts?

Working Dogs, Eh? Well, Ill be honest saying that it doesnt matter much to me. To me, the cost of the type of dog is based on its training, not how big and such it is. Other than that, If you want to go into it, find a dog breed that makes sense (a medium sized lap dog doesnt make much sense, or a tiny size riding dog) and go with the weight. All and all, I dont see any reason to change it, but if you want to make this part more 'realistic' i have no issues

Maybe I'll just wait and buy a combat trained dog...or train one myself. I don't want a war pet...just a pack dog that can carry some gear and is more noble than a donkey.
