Name: Akaiden Fletcher (Ah-K-Den) Nickname: Braun (Brawn) Gender: Male Race: Human Homeland: The Human Hold of Khal* Age: 22 Hair: Dark Brown Hair Style: Well kept, usually combed to the right. Beard Style: Immaculately well groomed beard. Eye Color: Brown Skin: White, Tanned, Scars Height: 6'4 Weight: 15 Stone (210lbs) Frame: Built, Toned, Long Arms. Class: Fighter Specialty: Two Handed Weapons (GreatSword), and Defensive Combat. Alignment: Neutral Good Diety: Kura
Appearance: Braun is a magnificent specimen of a man. He towers among many, has a wide wingspan and looks physically imposing. He keeps himself very well groomed. His hair is combed to the right, and his beard neatly trimmed. He knows what the ladies like, or at least the kind of women he wants, and does his best to keep that appearance. If it wasn’t for his large frame and scars (specifically the one on his right arm) some might call him a ‘pretty boy’. He is very comfortable with who he is, and projecting his personality in his appearance. He hides from no one. Braun prefers to always be in his armor, choosing to shine it up rather than dawn a suit. However, when the circumstances dictate he is capable of pulling off a very debonair appearance. His closing choices usually include, Blues, Black and Gold.
Personality: Upon first meeting, Braun can come off as a smug, arrogant, asshole. While those words may hold some truth to his personality they are hardly the whole picture. Braun is a strong, prideful man on the surface. Those traits escape effortlessly into any room he enters. He is not ashamed of who he is, doesn’t hide himself, and won’t hesitate to let you know exactly what he thinks This makes him a tough person to like initially, but once someone knows Braun they find a deeply religious, caring man who often lets his own pride stand in his way of success. Braun has always struggled with making “the right choice”. He doesn’t like to walk away. Whether it be from a fight or an attractive woman who has caught his eye. Braun, would rather be slapped in the face for a social mis-step than not try at all. Braun is very cautious around people with prosthetic hands.
Backstory: Braun’s upbringing included heavy doses of religion intermixed with scuffles, fights, and brawls. His mother, Sashana*, a cleric, often tried to dissuade Braun from his natural tendency to engage in fisticuffs. While her efforts definitely made an impact on who he has become, they were ineffective in stopping him from a violent youth. It’s not that Braun was a bully, or a victim….as no one was stupid enough to try it…..he just gravitated to violent situations. If a fight broke out, no matter the reason, he would intervene and attempt to put an end to it. If he saw something he felt was wrong, he spoke up. He tried to stop it and had no problem fighting for his belief….and he fought a lot.
When he was 15 he noticed a bandit group attacking a cart along the main road at night. Without a word he left the side of his best friend Kiko*, and entered the fray, unarmed.. He was able to render 2 of the 3 bandits unconscious relatively quickly before the third connected with a strong blow of his own. Braun fell to his knees, blood gushing out of his right arm. Braun’s involvement allowed the cart to escape. Losing his pay-day the bandit was furious, standing over Braun. The bandits blade raised. Braun closed his eyes and accepted his fate. He heard a cry followed by a thud, and a clang of the blade hitting the ground. He opened his eyes to see that Kiko had ran into the bandit knocking both of them to the ground. kiko had sprinted from the side of the road and knocked the bandit to the ground. Braun, Kiko and the bandit stood simultaneously. Braun and the Bandit made eye contact. Kiko was shaking in fear. With his eyes locked with Braun the bandit produced a second blade and swung quickly to the left. Kiko dropped to the ground blood spitting out of his throat. Braun grabbed the blade the bandit had dropped. It was heavy. He swung the blade once. He wiffed. The Bandit swung on Braun, who was able to move just out of the way. Braun swung a second time and missed. The Bandit changed it up and went for a stab, hitting Braun in his left side between two ribs.. Braun cried out in pain and made another swing. He connected as he fell to the ground from the pain. The bandits off hand fell with Braun. Blood pooled below the hand and dropped from the Bandits arm above. The Bandit cried in pain and fled. Moments later 3 guards arrived. Braun lost consciousness. When Braun awoke he was in his home with his Mother standing above him.
From then on his mother had realized that she was in a losing battle (as are most battles that oppose Braun).. Braun was always going to fight. She urged him to use his physical prowess for good. She urged him to become a battle cleric, or a paladin. To fight for what was right. Braun was having none of it. He was uncomfortable with the black and white nature of a Paladin’s dealings.
A few days later Braun was met by the Guards who had found him for a formal inquiry of the situation. The guards sat down with Braun behind closed doors. They only asked one question. Would you like to train to become a member of the guard? He declined. They offered acceptance to the training academy program if he ever changed his mind. When he told his mother of the inquiry she was ecstatic. If he was going to fight. What better reason than to fight for his town. She convinced him it was the only option. Join the guard, or be left without a profession. He joined the academy a few days later.
He was a punching bag much of his first day of training. The other cadets were older, and stronger, all-be it smaller. He made a point the second day to show them what he was made out of. On the second day of training he not only a blow or two….he delivered them too. In back to back training drills he knocked his opponents unconscious. Prior to the third drill of the day the trainer said “Now, go easy on this one Brawn.” He knocked the third one unconscious. From then on the rest of the cadets started calling him Braun. For the next 6 years he would be called Braun, and somewhere in there he started introducing himself as Braun.
He had found a purpose….but wasn’t satisfied. He knew that his friends killer had gotten away...that didn’t sit well with him. After 9 months of nothing but peace he requested a personal leave of absence from the guard in order to “Forge a stronger relationship with the world.” The guard captain called bullshit, but knew that he couldn’t hold Braun from following his instincts. He agreed to let Braun leave under the condition that Braun return if the Hold needed him. Braun agreed, and left the hold in search of his friends killer.
Haven't quite fleshed out a few things yet. Things I know I will talk about: Khal*: Agathorn Fletcher - Father - Inn Keeper*: Sashana Fletcher - Mother - Cleric*: Kiko Akari*:
