To those of you who edit the website:

I am curious what you think about the website's editing software. I keep getting more and more frustrated with the formating as I attempt to do cool stuff with my pages and such. I am hesitant to suggest looking elsewhere, but I am finding myself more and more frustrated as time goes on.

Have any of you looked into other web hosting sites in the past? Im going to try some free trials, see what I can find, see if there is anything I like more. Again, I am hesitant to suggest changing sites, as soo much information is here already and it would be a BITCH to move it over, but as a thought? Anyone tried anything else in the past?

Well....Copy and past works really freakin' well....If you want to change sites, we can.  Just Copy-Paste stuff over lol.

I would love to change sites because I also get frustrated with the functionality of this one.  My other gaming group has a forum here, which I love, but a site like that isn't free.  (Brian Bunke pays for the domain name, pays for the web hosting, and the phpBB forum software is a free download.)

The big downside of that system is that Bunke is the only person who can edit anything.  He has to login to his web hosting server to make changes to his website, and that's probably not what we want.  Here, it's better for each of us to be able to edit pages.

Short answer:  I would be willing to change sites but, if we go thru that effort then I want the new site to be really good, so we don't have to move again.  I will help pay for the new site if we can't get a quality free one.

I picked up a 1 yr sub to godaddy, and while its editor is FAR superior, they currently dont have a fourm app. when talking to them, they said it will happen in the near future, the fact that they dont now means they currently arent better.

I love phpBB, but it's a few hours' work to set up and run, and you spend a lot of time banning bots.  It was worth doing during my Guild Wars days tho. 

i've had experience moderating on phpBB boards before. They aren't bad at all. Not ideal, but workable. 

So I really like the web + Forum integration.  I think that maybe we aught to look into moving the web pages to godoody, and retaint he forums here until gooderpy adds them in.  That said, I think sev is going to have to give instructions on how to work the go-diggity sign in, and editor.

So to summarize:

1) Move the website (sans forums) to severantos.com

2) Link to forums here.  Slowly shutdown this webplace, save for forums.  Stop paying for it, since we can use the forums for free.

3) Migrate forums once godaddy has them operational.

I will look into additional users, and if that doesnt work, will provide my login information to everyone so they can edit as need be. Copy paste works so far wtih mixed results, as, for some reason, when copy pasting, webs data seems to be white text on white background.

After looking into it, I can make each and every one of you an authorized user on the GoDaddy website. Ill get more info in the very near future

Since our website here is currently formatted white, i would recommend first pasting text into word, and selecting the "match destination formating" option.  This will make the text black.

I'm starting to get in full swing with the new website. I need to know who wants their own Character page. you can see on this site the amount of work people like Paladin and I go to on our character pages. I don't expect much, but if I give you a page, I expect a little somethin, k?

Ill start givin people invites to the new site soon.

I'll post my character background (and edit as rp dictates) but no stats.  

Alright! Website is up and running enough to get people started on their portions. If ya'll wanna pm me your email addresses (i have most, but not all), I can get you an invite to the website editor. There is no 'members' section yet, but I assume that will arrive with Forums

Is there a way to insert a character portrait in with the background and rp (like <img>image here</img>)?

Night was refering to direct HTML editing, in this case, using phpbb.  SO for example, will we be able to upload images at goderpy?  So we can put them in our character pages?

I believe there is a way to do direct HTML. I dont know html code, however, so I have not played around with it.
