This is a little something Paladin/Aperion worked on today:

Gray Guard

Requirements:

Alignment: Lawful Good

Skills:  Knowledge (Religion) 5, Sense Motive 5

Special: Lay on Hands as a class feature

Special: must adhere to a code of conduct that prohibits Evil acts

Special:  a potential Gray Guard must have experienced a traumatic event in which her divine abilities were not sufficient to overcome the situation.  Any Paladin that has lost her powers in pursuit of a just cause fulfills this requirement.

Special: The Gray Guard must have been recruited by  a Confessor within her church.

Core Chasis: Fighter BAB, d10 HD, strong Fortitude and Will, weak Reflex, 2 Skill points per level

Skills: Bluff, Disguise, Diplomacy, Forgery, Handle Animal, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge (local) (nobility and royalty), Ride, Sense Motive

Lay on Hands: Gray Guard levels stack with paladin levelsfor the purposes of this ability.

Sacrement of Trust: When in pursuit of a just cause, a Gray Guard is given more freedom to act in a manner that may violate her Code of Conduct.  When receiving an Atonement Spell, the Confessor does not need to pay the XP cost.

Divine Bond: Gray Guard levels begin to stack with Paladin levels for thepurposes of Divine Bond at level 3 Gray Guard (Paladin levels + Gray Guard levels-2, starting at level 3 Gray Guard).

Debilitating Touch: level  4, Lay on Hands can inflict a mercy that LoH would normally heal.  This is a touch attack that does not provoke attack of opportunity; (save Fortitude DC: 10 + Gray Guard level +Cha modifier).

Justice Blade: At level 4, the Gray Guard's smite can effect Chaotic enemies.  At level 9, a Gray Guard's smite affects all alignments.

Spellcasting Levels: At all levels except 1, 5, and 9, the Gray Guard receives more spells per day and spells known as if she had just gained a level in a divine spell casting class that she has prior to becoming a Grey Guard.  If the Gray Guard has 2 or more divine casting classes, She must chose one that recieves this bonus.

New Spells (If Gray Guard improves Paladin Spellcasting):  InflictLight Wounds (1), Inflict Moderate Wounds (3), Inflict Serious Wounds (4)

Unbound Justice:
Add 1/2 (round down) Gray Guard levels to Bluff, Disguise, and Intimidate checks.

Devastating Touch:
Gray Guard can convert a use of Lay on Hands to channe lnegative energy to damage a living creature. This damage is equal to the normal amount healed by his Lay on Hands, and stacks with Debilitating Touch.

Sacrement of True Faith:  A Gray Guard no longer loses her granted powers when taking actions that violate her Code of Conduct, so long as her cause is just.

I fixed several misspellings and shuffled around the skill descriptions so they're in order of when they appear.  Also, I think it's better to make it explicit that you need at least 1 level of Paladin to take Grey Guard, instead of just Lay on Hands as a class skill.  Reason being: this is supposed to be a diverging path for a Paladin in particular, so might as well ensure the character was on the path to begin with.

I think this class is pretty much good to go.

edit: whoops, accidentally edited in something I shouldn't have, fixing it.

edit2: it's "Gray", as in Gray Guard, not Grey Poupon, but I think that's the fault of the original author, not the one who cleaned it up.
