So currently, the Commoner class is something of a red-headed step child.

Base Chassis:
HD: d4
BAB: Mage (weak)
Strong Saves: None
Weak Saves: Fort, Rel, Wis
Skill Multiplier: 2
Prof:  1 simple weapon

From the gestalt system, there are certain classes that are never used.  This is one of them.  The issue come into play when you have T3 classes that can only gestalt with Commoner, Warrior, and Aristocrat.  Warrior and Aristocrat have some benefit, but for some classes, this means that you are either a rich kid, or your gestalt is worthless.  I'd like to provide a modest mechanical advantage to the commoner class to make it more likely to gestalt.

Suggestion:  WHen the shit hits the fan, the common folk scurry out of the way.  Commoners now get a strong REFL save.

BUMP!

Opal has said that he likes the idea.  Does anyone have a huge objection to this?

I understand the reasoning why we should do it, but I personally like the fact that the Commoner is BAD at EVERYTHING.

The commoner class should not get the same saves as the rogue, imo. Or any other form of only reflex as good save class. Commoners should be bad at everything. Its what they do. They die by the droves when something bad happens. They are the cannon fodder that absorb hp damage for me!

While I would not have a huge objection to it, I just dont think it should happen.

To assuage the concerns that Sev has, I'd like to revisit my notion to "rebrand" the aristocrat class.

Skills for the Aristorcrat are as follows:

Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Disguise (Cha), Forgery (Int), Gather Information (Cha), Handle Animal (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (all skills taken individually) (Int), Listen (Wis), Perform (Cha), Ride (Dex), Sense Motive (Wis), Speak Language (None), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), and Survival (Wis).

This skill set would be approriate for an explorer or adventurer, and so I'd like to suggest that we re-brand Aristocrat as "Adventurer" or "Explorer".  The role of Aristocrat will be taken by the Noble Class (N3 Tier).
