So time is drawing closer.  If you want your existing character's sheet ahead of time (this week or this weekend), post in this thread.  I'll either PM you here or send a PDF/docx with the stats put in.  After this weekend, you'll be better off waiting till I can personally hand you your character sheet back.

As far as the actual date, it's whatever we can work out with as many people as possible, either before or after the wedding.

Oh, quick heads up, I'm considering doing a quality of life improvement on the Skill system to combine several skills into more general ones for this campaign.  This would be like putting Hide and Move Silently into one category called Stealth, which would be used to make checks on the skills it's replacing.  The net result will be that if you had points in multiple combinbed skills, you will have skill points refunded to you; I will never force a deficit on you.

More clearly, taking the example above, at level 10 let's say you had 13 points in both Hide and Move Silently before.  Combined into one skill Stealth, you will still be capped at 13 points, but you now have 13 additional points left over to put elsewhere.

Iam borrowing this from Pathfinder, but I will be using my own judgment on what to combine as well as player suggestions.  Don't plan on anything just yet, but feel free to throw out suggestions.

Here's my own so far:

Stealth [Dex] -- Hide, Move Silently

Social Accumen [Cha] -- Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Sense Motive, Gather Information

Acrobatics [Dex] -- Balance, Climb, Escape Artist, Jump, Use Rope, Swim

Perception  [Wis] -- Listen, Spot, Search

Disable Device [Dex] - Disable Device, Open Lock

edit: On review of the play, the decision is reversed.  There will be no reworking of Skills for this game.  Later down the road, possibly a different game yeah.  But I don't think it feels right to change up some fairly fundamental things mid-campaign.  Especially one that's played once a year.

The following characters are now on excel spreadsheets (I constructed these myself, so they'll look a bit weird)

Kellen Velcole -- Opalshine

Ederick Grimm - Paladin

Lorena Heirone - Night

Damar - Ontrix

Katarina Naile - Severantos

:woop: done

Ok, now FYI these are as close to perfect recreations of what YOU put on your character sheet.  I did not fill in missing details, but I also tried not to leave anything out.  Also, these are not official character sheets, those will be returned ASAP before game.  However, if you wish to remake your character using the options described in the OP of this thread, feel free to do so.  Soon as I can figure out a quick way to distribute these, I will.  Still got stuff to do tonight so I should have them out tomorrow.  If you want me to email, that's an easy way, just give me one I can reach you at.

Well, Im going to guess that today, tomorrow, and Saturday are out. If the ammound of work I saw the couple doing on Monday was any indication, they just have more now.

I personally am free today, after 3 on Friday, any time we are not at the wedding on Saturday, all day sunday, after 12 on monday, after 3 on tuesday, and after 3 on wednesday.

Yep, it will be virtually impossible to play before the wedding, but I am free all day Sunday and the evenings of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

Yeah, we're going to make the attempt after the wedding.  We'll play it by ear, but we'll see how everyone feels on Sunday; if that's a no-go, then Monday or Tuesday.

So before I put the final touches on my character, I want to ask a couple things:

First: Can I play an assassin? I know that you removed alignment restrictions in a way, and just want to make sure it is ok.

Second: You mentioned that we cant go above +5. I am assuming that applies to things such as weapons, armor, natural armor, deflection, etc. Doe this +5 also apply to skill items, or can we stil only go up to 1 +5 item, the rest +3 items?

Third: Can I get new gear as a 'recurring' character, using the rules for new characters?

Thanks

First answer: Yes.  Alignment-restrictions on classes can be ignored because alignments themselves are restricted.  I will not ask you to justify how an assassin can be good either because that wouldn't be fair to you.

Second: 1 +5 or equivalent item, everything else caps at +3 or equivalent.

Third: I have no problem with you buying new gear, especially if changing classes makes using existing gear hard or impossible.  Actually, now that you mention it, I didn't consider the repercussions of new classes and gearing.  So here's what I'll do: you can sell any piece of gear for full listed refund if your rebuild makes it undesirable or unequippable.

alright then, this raises a couple of new questions:

1) how about items with a spell on them? If the spell grants higher than a +3 or +5, can I not take that item? (such as wands or scrolls or other items with castable spells on them).

2) I have several un-identified items in my inventory. Can those be counted as my gear? if so, what value do i get for them? (4 longswords, 1 flail, 1 short sword)

1.  Consumables like scrolls or wands with charges are restricted only to spells that a level 10 can cast.  We never tackled the issue of potions, so if you have something specific in mind, let me see.

2. We never resolved the unidentified items at the last session because you didn't have someone who could properly identify everything, and we were running out of time.  In the intervening two years, you all can easily identify them all.  I would remind you that these items belong to the party overall, but what you do with them since they were handed to you, is of course up to you.  Here's what you got:

Longsword of the Detorid Overlord*: +3 Enhancement Bonus, On Criticals: 2d4 Bleed/round for 3 rounds (effect stacks with itself and refreshes the duration)

3x Warbringer's Longsword:  +2 Attack Bonus, +1d4 Slashing

Sanctified Flail:   +1 Enhancement Bonus, Wisom +1

Deadly Short Sword: +1d4 Slashing, Keen

*: This weapon is considered unique.  The others like it were forged specifically for the 2-star generals of the enemy armies that advanced on Feythabolis 55 years ago.  None have been made since and this is one of only three that have ever been seen by anyone from Paragon Soul.  Out of all three, this is the only one that's in usable condition. It bears the name of the Detorid Overlord of that period, Rhisserkh.
