http://adamsouza.tripod.com/alchemy.html Dave as expressed a desire for the party to use more expendable and/or alchemical items. I found this list, and was really taken with a lot of the ideas of items. I'd like the group to take a look at this list and decide if there is a way to incorporate this list either as is, or with revisions if something is out of whack. Let me know what you guys think -Z Edit: Yes I know a lot of these are from Dragon Magazine, this is why I seek clarification, approval, disapproval or discussion about things. I'd like to see some of the dragon things incorporated 'cuz they're effing cool (even if it means adjusting the price up or down to make it reasonable if necessary) | |

In general these all seem ok. There are a few that I'd rework (like Armor Soft), but I'm ok with the concepts in this list. In general, alchemical items should fit w/in the bounds of reason that are accepted by the current rules. For new stuff, we'll take it on a case by case basis. Also, some items may reuire black market checks. For items that cost 100gp or more, a PC has to learn the recipe in order to make the item. | |

Of course. Availability in any given campaign is always subject to DM rulings. I totally agree that there are a few things that should be reworked and/or revised a bit just in order to tweak, but the thing that really struk me was the fact that there are three or four things that provide fire resistance and/or neutralize fire... which pretty much solves our "ohey plate... lets throw alchemists fire at them" issue we had. 'cuz then it becomes "ohey *throws greek fire" Plate wearer: "Ohey... *neutralizes*" but yeah, i just wanted to get a general idea of what you guys' thoguhts are -Z | |

some items seem to be self use...but could be weaponized....like armorsoft. lulz i sunder ur plate... | |

I would argue that something like armorsoft would indeed damage plate, but if it is used in combat, then it is hardly going to get the intended coverage and even coating that applying it to ones own armor would give... I'd probably suggest something like a 2-3% cumulative fail rate on mundane armors and call magical armors immune to it. (but that's just my opinion) thoughts? -Z | |

So before this thread dies: What items do people have a problem with (any aspect: effect, cost, DC, etc) and what do you propose the change is to "fix" it? Thanks -Z | |

Zal - Let's do coffee with a printed out list and make changes that way...Too hard to alt-tab think and to do it solo. Friendwork is so much better | |
