Same spells as druid, but with a wierd mechanic for learning them.  Sort of like a sorc for druids.  Gets some cool abilities, but some of her later abilities are pure crap.  at level 19, can spend 1000 xp to gain a contingent Heal for when she drops to 0 hp :p.  Most of her special abilities are focused towards fey, elementals, and incorporeal undead.

Access to druid spells p to level 9, ubt highly limited in their use.  No wild shape.

Recommend Tier 4.

Hmmm I dont think I would go that low. I would say Tier 3, minimum, based solely on the powerful nature of 9th level spells.

A Spirit Shaman only knows 3 spells per level every day. But, she chan swap out what spells she knows every time she rests. While that limits her in the middle of the day, it is an easy ability to rest for 8 hours and have whatever you needed.

I'd like to point out a comparison to the war mage.  He also has level 9 spells, but comes in at tier 4.  Not all level 9 spells are equal.  I'd still say tier 4 due to the situationalness of her powers.  She'd be good in a low tier group, but quickly overshadowed by the damage dealers on tier 3.  As for healing, she can't even spell cleric, let alone get into his league.

She does 2 things ok.  Healing and Damage casting.  But she is only Ok at those two things.

Ehhh we'll go with it, partially because I dont want to put the effort in to dig further when its just the difference of one class :P

Dunno, let's spin more.

Powers only effective v. fey, elementals, & incorp. Undead. (and the powers are not that good)

No melee abilities.

Full Drood Spells.

Flexibility with drood spells (i'm not convinced that this is any different from the normal means of getting spells for drood).

Level 9 spells by themselves are not game breaking.  From the description of classes, I think this class is either a weak T3, or a strong T4.  We'll let Zal vote this one through.

I just a discussion that put this class on Tier 2 by default.   I'm not sure that Druid spells are game BREAKING, but they are game changing.  If you feel that druid spells are that good, let's go Tier 2.  IF they are not breaking, lets go Tier 3. :)

world altering = world breaking. if a PC has control over aspects of the world, things can quite easily get out of control very quickly. Druids are Tier 1 because of the combination of 9th level spells and wildshape. Druid casting without the wildshape in my mind is tier 2.  especially with the swappable spells thing.

there's a great Giant in the Playground thread about this class that i got all of this from I haven't looked at the class itself yet, but I'll take a look tonight. Until further notice, my vote is tier 2.
