I'm putting this character up here so I can copy to a folio when I get home.  And since I don't seem to have a scanner handy, I'm going to have to transcribe this manually.  This is the character I'll be using whenever I can play.

Xandria, a name she knows is perhaps the only true thing about her.  All she knows of her life with her people is that somewhere in her family's past, some transgression reduced her lineage to that of indentured servants.  Her mother quite possibly gave up her life so that Xandria would not have to live that life, though she does live among her people's most hated enemies: Humans.

Her earliest memories were of an orphanage where the other kids picked on her and beat her up on an almost constant basis.  At first, she held her own, not willing to back down to bullies.  However, as they grew up, she did not (at least, not very quickly).  The beatings became more severe, and she couldn't fight back.  When she resored to improvising weapons, the grown-ups got involved, and she was beaten even worse.  She escaped from that hellhole, as it would have killed her if she hadn't.

Being a homeless orphan was bad enough.  Being a Drow on top of that was even worse.  She couldn't beg as the others did.  And so she was resigned to her death.  That is, until she was arrested by a contracts officer of Tehim.  Being indigant was against the law, after all.  She was brought in to the Church of Tehim where her punishment was handed down, and she had to work as a maid in their custody.  With a room, and three meals a day.  And clean clothes.  And baths.  Last, she had to attend school and learn the ways of Tehim and the management of contracts.  It is with them that she found the word 'discipline' didn't have to scare her.  They were hard on her, but fair.  At the least, she knew where she stood.  Their dislike for her kind was because of the problems they had with Drow not honoring contracts, not beause of her.

Within the confines of Tehim's people, she grew up, out of sight of the streets, away from the orphanages of adults who allowed her to be beaten.  And in time, she graduated from the school, and joined the Contacts Enforcement Agency, the militant wing of the church dedicated to tracking contract-breakers and bringing them in to fulfill the contract, or the penalty.  Most times, people entered into settlements to fulfil the terms of the contracts, and the penalties were relatively light.  However, and mostly dealing with the seedier people and organizations who deal with contracts through Tehim, issues with contracts turned deadly.  Penalty clauses included being tortured, killed, or worse, which the TCEA enorced on behalf of clients.  Xandria hasn't been involved in many of these, though it does allow her to be on the other side of rules, which gives her some amount of pleasure to finally be able to tell adults what they can and can't do.  Especially being a Drow, finding that such people couldn't touch her without severe repraisal was something she never in her wildest dreams as a child could have ever thought possible.

Despite all this, and the potential for abuse on her part, she was a believer, and won't allow her personal feelings to get in the way of doing her work.  Why kill some racist schmuck today and risk her job when there's plenty more schmucks out there who she can lawfully kill tomorrow?
