Hi all,  there is a fantastic auction happening for an unspecified amount of miniatures (I don't feel like counting but the seller says there's about 200 of them).  It ends one week from today and I was wondering if anyone would like to contribute for a bid on these minis.  I think we should pool our resources as Dave and I can't afford $200 for d&d stuff right now.  Here's the link, let us know if you'd be willing to chip in.

Thanks!

Violence is always the answer. If you somehow believe violence isn't the answer you are asking the wrong questions. If violence is not solving your problem then you're not using enough. No problem is so awful that it can't be solved by killing everyone who is even remotely connected with it.

We would only need $15 per person (which goes up if people can't or don't want to chip in).  Dave and I would absolutely pay everyone back, a paycheck at a time, lol.

Thanks for the heads-up, Diane.  I maybe should have taken the ledger sheet home and typed it here, but I left it on the gaming table.  I think our total contribution is somewhere in the $225.00 range, which is a good number.  If our bid of, say, $225 gets sniped by a higher bid then that's just the way it goes.  Dave made the sensible point that our goal is not to "get the miniatures"; it's to get the miniatures at a cost that is amenable to us.

Opal brought up a point about storing the miniatures. In lieu of shelving, I did some research and I think we should get a Battlehive (<--clicky) or 2.  Here is a youtube video made by some gamer geeks showing off the features of the Battlehive - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL5TdHLe9ko.  The majority of the metal miniatures would be stored in these for their protection. Everyone will have a cubby of their own to store active miniatures. I’d also highly encourage people to contribute any orphan dice that they can store here in their cubbies.

Opal (and anyone else willing to help), Dave and I would still like your help making shelves for the many d&d books.
